The Mahora Mage Knights Defense Brigade was an organized defense force committed to the protection and security of the city of Mahora. It was initially founded in June, 2007 in response as the defending team for the capture the flag/territories 'game' Mages vs. Mars. It originally consisted of 2,500 average citizens of Mahora, ranging from elementary school level to adult, that signed up to participate in the game, as well as the 1,500-member force of Fireteam Charlie. The defense force, known commonly as the Mage Knights, was reborn in 2552 when Evangeline took the mantle of the Mage Knights for her ODST division, labeling them the spiritual successors of the original defense force. The original title of Mahora Mage Knights Defense Brigade was coined by Kazumi Asakura.
